Students who have just given their class XII board exams could consider studying the five-year integrated MBA course at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore.
Talking about the course, MS Parmar, media in charge and head, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, says that the course gives adequate time to students for assimilating concepts and diving deeper into their areas of interest.
“The concept behind this programme is to catch them young and provide exposure to students so that they can understand the dynamism of management . The course will help inculcate managerial qualities and understanding of business environment at the right time. It aims to impart management education with a scientific approach and an emphasis on numeric techniques. The integration of undergraduate and postgraduate course ensures that students develop a sharp focus and deeply understand all aspects of management over a period of five years,” says Parmar.
The first three years of the programme build a base for management education. “Students learn about all the aspects of management like marketing, finance, HRM, operations, systems, economics , etc, to develop their conceptual base. After that, students can opt for a specialisation in either of the four areas – marketing , human resource and finance as (majors) and systems (minor),” he explains.
Students are also required to take summer internships (training ) and on- the-job training (industrial training).
There are 120 seats on offer and students are selected on the basis of merit through an all India level entrance examination (CET) conducted by the university. Students who have completed their class XII with minimum 50% can apply.
